The Alamo - 17.7 miles from our resort
Conveniently located just 17 miles from the resort, in downtown San Antonio, The Alamo is the most famous spot in Texas, and host to more than 2.5 million people a year. For over 300 years, the Alamo has been a crossroads for Texas history. Now, The Alamo is dedicated to educating all visitors about its history and importance to Texas and the nation. All 300 years of Alamo history are vital to the story, but it is important to remember the Alamo’s primary role is as a memorial to those who died in the 1836 battle during the Texas fight for freedom. The four southernmost Spanish colonial missions—Concepción, San José, San Juan and Espada—are included in the San Antonio Missions National Historical Park, which officially opened in 1983. The missions are walled compounds encompassing a church and buildings where the priests and local Native Americans lived and worked. When visiting San Antonio Missions National Historical Park, plan to spend at least a few hours. Guided tours and biking trails are available. Tower of the Americas - 16.9 miles from our resort
View the city from 750 feet in the air! This tower, originally built for the 1968 World’s Fair, HemisFair, takes visitors up a glass elevator for a bird’s eye look at downtown San Antonio. Attractions of the Tower include a revolving restaurant, stationary bar, observation deck and a 4D adventure ride. The Tower was the tallest observation tower in the United States from 1968 until 1996, when the Las Vegas Stratosphere Tower was completed.
